The foremost question on the minds of most up and coming bloggers is "Why should I submit my blog to directories?" The answers to this question are quite varied, with some opting to submit to several blog directories at a time, with others failing to see much point in it. Based on my impressions of most web experts opinions however, I have realized favorable results when I submit my blog to a small number of blog directories soon after starting it up.
What I quickly learned when I submit my blog to blog directories was that I was able to garner backlinks in a fairly short time. The result was that my websites became more "attractive" to search engines, which indexed them more readily and in turn caused them to achieve a higher ranking in search engine results pages.
The interesting thing is how much importance search engines place on these links. All things being equal, search engines place a higher value on pages that have more links, since this is a sign of a worthy blog. This is actually how I got better results when I submit my blog to blog directories. The directory listings themselves dont actually generate more visitors.
There is a bit of dispute about the proper number of blog directories to submit my blog to. Some people feel that I should submit my blog to as many as hundreds of blog directories, while others feel that this would be pointless.
Many web experts agree that as little as 5 to 10 blog directories may actually be more than enough. For although search engines are attracted to sites that have plenty of links, they are more likely to place a higher value on links that are featured on on topic posts and articles, as opposed to those that come from blog directories.
My primary concern at this point was how to find blog directories that I could submit my blog to. I found that a search for "blog directory" got me several leads in this regard. In fact, many of the better blog directories came in at the top of the search results pages.
I have often run into blog directories that require me to post backlinks or impose certain other requirements. I tend to shy away from those blog directories, and instead I tried to submit my blog to blog directories that were a lot less rigid.
Most blog directories let you go through the submission process fairly quickly, while others may require a lot more time. I dont even bother with directories that overcomplicated the process, and opted to submit to those that made it easy for me to submit my blog. I was then able to focus on producing better content that resulted in more links. Related articles Listen to music for free How to blog Skinny
