Rochester NY is a metropolitan city located in Monroe County, New York. The big Rochester NY is considered as the second largest metropolitan economy in New York State. Rochester is also known as the Flour City or The Flower City. According to the population estimations of 2008 the total population of Rochester NY is about 207,000. Rochester NY is considered as the third largest city of New York on the basis of the population of the country. The total area of the city is 37.1 sq mi (96.1 km2) which consists of 35.8 sq mi (92.8 km2) land and 1.3 sq mi (3.3 km2) water. Robert Duffy is the current mayor of Rochester.
Rochester NY has a very strategic location and it lies in the east of Buffalo and west of Syracuse. In addition, it is on the southern shore of Lake Ontario and Genesee River bisects the city. Rochester NY is a metropolitan city and there many International businesses which are operating in the city such as Fortune 1000 companies like Eastman Kodak, Paychex and Constellation Brands. Because of this reason Rochester NY is considered as world capital imagining.
