For some reason people struggle with the idea of whether they need their own website or not to make money. In my mind there really isn't a question, but let's analyze the importance of having your own website here.
1. Control. When you host your own website you have total control over it.
When you are promoting a replicated website you do not have control. This is true in certain business models such as affiliate marketing and network marketing.
If you ever advance to the point that you are a full time Internet marketer, having control over every part of your business will become more important to you.
2. Changes in the future. What works for you today might not be the case in the future.
Having your own website let's you can make changes to it in the future. When you use a replicated website you are at the mercy of the program owner.
If you decide to promote a another product you can just make that change on your site when you control it. As a matter of fact you can change everything you want.
3. Email list. One of the best ways to make money online is to follow up with people via email.
When you have your own website you can add an autoresponder form to it. You can then follow up over and over with your subscribers in the best way you see fit.
4. Easy to set up. Building a website is really easy to do thanks to various tools.
Most Internet marketers use WordPress themes to build their website in. You can set your home page up as a static page if you choose to do so it looks just like a website.
This doesn't take any technical knowledge to do. You can easily learn how to make your website as fancy as you want it to be.
5. Cost. Purchasing a new domain name at Name Cheap runs less than $20 for two years when you use a coupon. Starting out with a 2 year domain name shows you're serious which Google appreciates.
Website hosting runs around $10 a month for unlimited domain names. This means whether you are hosting one domain name or 100, you still only pay around $10 a month.
Having your website gives you many advantages over other competition who do not have one. With this as easy as they are to set up, and as inexpensive as they are to host, there is no reason not to do it.
