There are several things that a site may be doing that can keep the search engine bots from successfully reading their content. Avoid using only Flash images, and never use a home page that redirects people to another page automatically. Also, nobody ever reads pop ups, and they will most definitely affect your site in a negative way. Also, you will have to go through all of your links to make sure that none of them are broken.
