Acoustic Guitar Lessons made simple! Fingerpicking Friday Yet another video from our simple acoustic guitar tutoring series. In this video we'll have a look at how it's possible for you to re-purpose an existing fingerpicking pattern we've looked at before and create a very different sound. I'll also show you 4 cool chords!

Essentially what's taking place here is I have employed the PAMI fingerpicking pattern but I've changed the strings I am playing it on, as well as the chord shapes.

When you play the fingerpicking pattern on this string grouping you'll get a totally different sound than when you play fingers I, M & An on strings 1, 2 and 3.

That means all of the patterns you've learned to date can be applied to this new string grouping. Kind of cool huh?

Well, they're from my Killer Chords electronic book and as you have likely heard they sound amazing.

The 1st chord is E Major add 9. This is basically merely an E chord with the 9th degree added. Don't sweat the idea, just like it. If it's a bit tricky to reach, no worries. Leave it for later and just play a basic E as an alternative.

The next chord is an Fm11. I love the sound of minor 11 chords and this particular voicing is very easy to play. After that we have got an Asus2 which is the same fingering as Fm11 except for one note.

Then we have Bsus4 and Cm7 which are both the same shape. Remember that you can use these shapes with your strumming patterns too, in reality I inspire it!
