What exactly is a turnkey business? It's a funny phrase, because it's hard to think of a business being as easy as turnkey. And in fact most businesses are not easy to build so the idea that you could start one easily is a bit of a misnomer. But nonetheless, there are models out there that purport to be a turnkey business that you could start easily.
This is different than a franchise in the traditional sense. A turnkey business is usually something that is online and geared towards Internet commerce. Many website products that allow you to build an online store are called turnkey businesses because they allow you to bring a virtual presence on the Internet to market quickly. Is this really a turnkey business? I'll let you decide.
The most important thing to remember is that whether you use a traditional business model or opt to use a turnkey tool to accelerate the growth of your business it will take work. There simply is no such thing as a free lunch. The problem I have with the turnkey business space is that many websites promise that you will make large sums of money with little to no effort. I read those claims with a great deal of skepticism yet and strangely compelled to want to believe them. I'm sure many others do the same thing and that's the trap you need to watch out for as you shop for a turnkey opportunity.
